Update 27 August 2021

Since the start of this pandemic in early 2020, we have shifted to a decreased clinical capacity to reduce interactions between our patients. This patient capacity modification will be continued as long as is necessary to allow for continued safe operations.

We have been successful during the pandemic in not having any known transmissions within our clinic environment, and we continue to be proactive regarding the inherent risk of close contact. The College of Chiropractors in Alberta provides us clear procedural guidance in consultation with Alberta Public Health. Our systems have been very successful and have not negatively affected our ability to offer clinically excellent services.

Our top priority, as Alberta shifts to the next phase of re-opening, is keeping our patients, employees, and practitioners safe while allowing appropriate access to NUCCA care.

Update 11 December 2020

We have received many inquiries related to how the restrictions recently introduced in Alberta will affect ongoing care in our office. Please rest assured, that as a regulated health service we can remain open and available for appointments. Masking mandates have changed from city bylaw to provincial legislation; we appreciate your compliance with these measures so that we can minimize the chance of being a close contact for Covid-19 and continue to stay open to serve our patients. We love taking care of you, and we continue to do everything we can to minimize the risk to any of our clinicians, staff, and patients.

Update 10 November 2020 - International Border Testing Pilot Program Update

Many patients have expressed interest in travelling again now that the new pilot program has been announced (International Border Testing Pilot Program), and they wonder how it could potentially affect their care upon return. The Alberta College of Chiropractors has recently announced regulations around seeing patients who have travelled outside of the country, regardless of whether or not they are eligible for the program.

The following was sent to all chiropractors in the province:

Your patients that travel outside of Canada, who are eligible to participate in the International Border Testing Pilot Program, are not eligible to attend a non-emergency health care facility for 14 days. Patients in the pilot program may call 911 or attend an Emergency Department as needed.

  • This means that patients are still required to isolate for 14 days upon returning to Alberta before receiving in-person care in your office, even if they participate in the pilot program.

We hope this helps in deciding whether or not you will travel during this pilot program. We all wish to escape somewhere right now, and we will update the conditions for treatment as soon as we hear otherwise.

Update 4 May 2020 – Conditionally Reopened

We are pleased to announce that we are once again accepting appointments. As per government mandate, we are only able to maintain and book appointments for patients that meet certain criteria. Walk-in appointments cannot be accepted at this time.

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please indicate a day, practitioner preference, and optimal time zone(s) (early, mid-day, late afternoon). We would prefer email communication but will try to be as responsive as possible if you prefer to phone.

Thank you for your patience as we adapt our procedures to comply with the government-approved Public Health Pandemic Practice Directive for Chiropractors. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Update 27 March 2020 - Temporary Closure

Due to government mandate and unclear/unsafe requirements for exam procedures that have been communicated by our governing body, we have been forced to temporarily close as we work to clarify requirements.

We will be opening for urgent, critical, and emergency appointments as soon as we are able. If you would like to be added to our urgent care appointment request list, please email us.

At this point we will be contacting patients to reschedule previously booked appointments one week in advance due to the fluid nature of the situation created by this pandemic.

If you would like to reschedule a previously booked appointment, please indicate a day, practitioner preference, and optimal time zone(s) (early, mid-day, late afternoon). We would prefer email communication but will try to be as responsive as possible if you prefer to phone.

We continue to commit to maintaining a safe and appropriate clinical environment for our patients and staff. Thank you for your understanding as we manage through these challenging times.

Update 23 March 2020

Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors has updated their directive to strongly recommended that chiropractors limit care to EMERGENT cases only. We are only able to maintain and book appointments for patients that meet the following criteria:

  1. You are experiencing an acute condition in which your daily activities would be severely limited without our care.
  2. You are in a sub-acute condition in which, if left untreated, you would be vulnerable to a flare up that would limit your daily activities (ex: You are out of alignment and know you will have a migraine without treatment).

If you are having minor symptoms or are on maintenance care, we are unable to book you at this time.

If you currently have an appointment scheduled, we will contact you directly to re-book your appointment. We will reach out one week before your scheduled appointment to make the rebooking process as easy as possible due to the large number of re-bookings needed. We continue to commit to maintain a safe and appropriate clinical environment.

We appreciate the opportunity to care for you both now, and in the future. All the best to you and yours during these uncertain times.
